About the wing

A house built for the city's memory

Housed inside the old Court of First Instance building fronting Magsaysay Park, Museo Dabawenyo is Davao City's own history museum. Its galleries move chronologically — starting with the Bagobo, Mandaya, Kalagan, and other indigenous communities native to the region, through Spanish and American colonial administration, the Japanese occupation, and into the postwar growth that shaped modern Davao.

It's a compact museum, easy to cover in under an hour, and a good first stop before visiting the other two wings — the context here makes the natural history and regional collections elsewhere land differently.

  • Free admission, though a donation box supports upkeep.
  • Closed on Mondays and select public holidays.
